Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law

WE HAVE A NEW NAME. Following the appointment of a new board of directors, the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law has repositioned itself in the research landscape, a development reflected in its new name. In March 2020, we became the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law. The research conducted in our three departments – Criminology, Public Law, and Criminal Law – is comparative, international, and interdisciplinary. The overarching goal of research conducted at the Institute is to provide national and supranational criminal policy solutions for the fundamental challenges of our time.
