Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law

WE HAVE A NEW NAME. Following the appointment of a new board of directors, the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law has repositioned itself in the research landscape, a development reflected in its new name. As of March 2020, we will be known as the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law. The research conducted in our three departments – Criminology, Public Law, and Criminal Law – is comparative, international, and interdisciplinary. The overarching goal of research conducted at the Institute is to provide national and supranational criminal policy solutions for the fundamental challenges of our time.
