Curriculum Vitae

For many years, Emily Silverman was head of the section United States and Canada, the sec­tion Is­rael, and the trans­lation (Ger­man–English) sec­tion. In Novem­ber 2011, she joined the team lead­ing the pro­ject In­ter­na­tion­al Max Planck Information System for Com­par­at­ive Crim­in­al Law. From Decem­ber 2008 to Decem­ber 2014, she was the In­sti­tute's Deputy Equal Op­por­tun­ity Of­ficer and from Janu­ary 2015 to Novem­ber 2016 its Equal Op­por­tun­ity Of­ficer. A gradu­ate of the Boalt Hall School of Law (Uni­versity of Cali­for­nia, Berke­ley), her LL.M. from the Uni­versity of Freiburg was sup­por­ted by grants from the Ger­man Aca­dem­ic Ex­change Ser­vice and the Max Planck So­ci­ety. She has writ­ten and trans­lated numerous art­icles on crim­in­al law and crim­in­al policy.
