Ranran Li, Ph.D.

Trained in personality psychology, Ranran studies how personality traits and situational factors jointly shape human behavior. Her research spans both socially constructive behaviors (e.g., prosociality) and behaviors that are harmful to oneself or others (e.g., dishonesty, delinquency).

She is currently applying this person–situation interaction perspective to delinquency and bystander intervention.
She is committed to rigorous empirical methods and combines them with theoretical integration – delineating micro-level psychological processes and linking them to broader macro-level structures.

While psychology remains her home discipline, Ranran works across fields, bridging psychology with criminology, behavioral economics, and sociocultural approaches. She is also interested in philosophy of science (metascience) and computational social science.
