“Unterwegs in Kriminologie und Strafrecht ‒ Exploring the World of Crime and Criminology”
A Festschrift for Professor Hans-Jörg Albrecht on the occasion his 70th birthday
On his 70th birthday, Professor Hans-Jörg Albrecht ‒ director emeritus at the Max Planck Institute – was presented with a commemorative publication in his honor.
The book "Unterwegs in Kriminologie und Strafrecht ‒ Exploring the World of Crime and Criminology" includes contributions in English and in German on security and prevention, criminology and criminal policy, criminal social control, juvenile delinquency and juvenile criminal law, and the impacts of criminal punishment and the enforcement of sentences. The publication was officially presented to the jubilee at the Harnack House in Berlin on 18 September 2021.
Hans-Jörg Albrecht was a director at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law (now the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law) from 1997 to 2019, where he headed the department of criminology. He was also a professor and law faculty member at the University of Freiburg. Albrecht was a visiting professor at several foreign universities, including five Chinese universities. He is recognized as one of Germany’s leading criminologists.
