Legal scholar receives Academy Prize for Humanities
The Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Lower Saxony has awarded Lukas Huthmann the 2025 Academy Prize for Humanities.
Lukas Huthmann receives the award in recognition of his dissertation “Grundzüge eines EU-Strafverfassungsrechts. Ein konzeptioneller Ansatz für die europäische Integration des Straf- und Strafverfahrensrechts” [Principles of an EU Criminal Constitutional Law. A Conceptual Approach to the European Integration of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure], which he completed at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
The awards ceremony took place during the open annual celebration of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities.
Lukas joined the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law in Freiburg in November as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Criminal Law. His research interests include European criminal law, constitutional criminal law, fundamental and human rights, and interdisciplinary legal research.
